The Chevy P-30 motor home auto park feature is a relatively simple system that has some major design issues and has been reported to cause serious accidents when it engages while driving. After our own bad experience with this system we did some research and found that MANY other owners of this chassis are having the same problems and concerns.  The problems are so severe there was even an attempt to get the system recalled! Since the chassis line has been sold and GM has gone bankrupt we decided some changes were required if we were ever to feel secure driving with our family in the vehicle.   AutoParkFix is the result of those efforts.  Combining our experiences with others who have posted on the internet we set out to address the following major issues:
  1. System will engage while driving down the road
  2. System will not disengage while vehicle is in reverse
  3. Dash light come on while driving but brake is not engaged
  4. The hydraulic pump will run continuously and eventually burn out or start a fire
  5. System will not disengage

Sound Familiar?

AutoParkFix's design is centered around eliminating #1 because we feel this the main concern of people who own a motor home built on this chassis.  There are multiple components that can fail and cause the brake to engage, including a simple 10 amp fuse!  AutoParkFix address this by holding the system on until the driver pushes a button to release pressure and set the brake.  An operator console also provides feedback telling you exactly what the system is doing and giving you all the information needed to avoid costly repairs.  Click here for a more detailed description of the system.

AutoParkFix can be installed in less than 2 hours by a professional mechanic or self installed by the owner.  The kit includes EVERYTHING needed for installation except a few basic tools.  Please see our installation manual here.  We have posted pictures of the system here.  The kit includes a laminated troubleshooting card for easy diagnosis and repair.  If you feel like us and are uncomfortable operating your motor home with its current Auto Park system then order a kit today!  For a cost of a few of tanks of gas you can restore your piece of mind and start to enjoy RV'ing again!

Please note this kit is designed to work on Chevy P-30 chassis with the Auto Park system that has its own hydraulic pump and is NOT connected to the power steering pump.   From what we have been able to determine the vehicles in question will have a GVWR of 12300 or more and build between the late 1980's and early 2000's.
